  • Sample of the product
  • Schematic diagram of the product
  • Technical specification of the product.
• File the offline application for model approval and submit the documents
• The legal metrology department would first assess your application and the documents.
• If there are no issues with your application and the documents, the sample will be forwarded to the director general of the legal metrology department.
• The product will then be tested
• If the product adheres to the regulatory standards of legal metrology department, you’ll obtain Model approval certificate.

If you’re an importer, you don’t need for your instrument to go through mandatory testing, for there is no such requirement.
